ARYPHAN® is manufactured by solvent casting from polyarylate without added plasticizer. The film can be made with either a glossy or a matt surface, depending on the surface of the casting belt.
- Range of thickness: 0.010 - 0.200 mm (0,008 and 0,006mm are available on request)
- Low water absorption
- Good compatibility to a variety of adhesives (we recommend adhesives suitable for Polycarbonate). Solvent based adhesives should not be used! Thin films can be welded.
- Low birefringence, high optical quality
- Surface structure either glossy / glossy (GL) or one side glossy / one side matt (EM). Both sides matt (BM) is available on request (made by lamination).
- Excellent thermoforming properties (the film is nearly free of internal tension)
- High insulation resistance and good dielectric characteristics
- High temperature resistance (Tg 193°, long term stability 166°C according to IEC 216-2)
- Flame retardant according to UL94-VTM0 (ARYPHAN F 0.060 mm and thicker). With both sides glossy, this film is highly transparent. This film complies to ROHS.
- Special colouring possible on request
Main application areas of ARYPHAN:
- Membranes for small loudspeakers and microphones, e.g. for mobile phones, mobile computing and similar applications (Aryphan N681EM)
- Membranes for Micro- and Ultrafiltration (track etched membranes).
- Dielectric film for capacitors (substitute for Polycarbonate)
- Electro-insulation with high temperature resistance.
- Flame retardant film with temperature resistance and high transparency for eclectrical applications and for building decoration.
ARYPHAN is the successor of POKALON (Polycarbonate), with all its properties very similar to POKALON.
The heat resistance of Arpyhan is approx. 30°C higher that that of POKALON.
If you are used to POKALON, please contact us. We would be happy to give advise or to send samples and technical information.
